Ep 1: My Moment Of Glory

My name is The Forture... that's all I remember of my past life, or at least the personal aspects of it... my alias... It's hard how the world changes, and to think, I made it change for the worse. It all started the day I destroyed the world... Funny how something thought to be the end became something more... powerful then the end itself.
I stood in the room, gun by my side. I strolled across the floor; laughing for my victory. No one could stop me. I walked up to the detonator and grabbed the lever, I looked out the window. The beautiful city of Reaver, about to be lost, and beyond that. Tokyo of Japan, Haarlem of Holland, Even Toronto of Ontario. They would all be hit with a mass boom of my radiational wind, it would destroy buildings. I put my clever, and carefully planned scheme aside. I wanted to see my plan come to life. I pulled the lever, a ghostly squeal came from the chamber... not a problem I had to assure myself, it was expected. My stress level, along with my anxiousness was on an all time high, five years it took me to plan this....five long nearly fatal years. Then I saw the tinted airburst from the sphere metal, air tight chamber. It moved faster then I expected, that could be a problem... for myself. The air struck right through buildings, those buildings fell, taking along smaller ones with them, but even the smaller buildings were hit, nothing went untouched. The grass, a vibrant green as the air came towards it the green turned to yellow and then the grass evaporated when the burst came over it. Everything was working. I saw men, women and children grab there throats and there heads burst from the sudden vacuum that was about 5 meters long and sky high. Then, my moment of glory, the man who had tried to save the city, The Mass, Or as I up to this day had called him, Jim Cordlack, came in his hover vehicle dodging in and out from buildings. It looked like my day would be foiled... but then he hit the barrier from oxygen to my new radiation. The nose of the vessel sore into the sky as it barreled through the radiation in a vertical belly flop. Jim got control of his machine in time and started to zoom towards the building. I gave a smirk. Even if he killed me my lives work was complete. His machine started to smoke... there was nothing wrong with the configuration of it, the radiation had a strange effect on the metal he had used to make it, it was vaporizing. I saw him unbuckle himself and walked past the ship. There was a thin layer of Tolleroise metal separating the radiation from consuming the ship from the inside which would only take seconds. Then it happened, only meters from the glass wall. It met with the inside barrier of the ship and the whole thing started to vaporize from front to back, and among the smoke was a muscular man running from the back on the destroyed ship. Jim jumped a little to late, his foot last touching the part of the ship that was vaporizing, he lost balance tumbling through the window. Glass shattered everywhere as I saw the man passing my face in a clumsy brawl for control, he balled himself up as he hit the ground, unintentionally it seemed by the look of it. He lost momentum and stopped his roll on his stomach on the floor, cuts and bleeding everywhere. I had only came moments from killing him about an hour before. Gun wounds had penetrated his arms, and legs. I left him to die their... but this seems more fitted, this was the tallest building, it over looked the city, and with my microscope I could see the slaughter on the ground as well.
"Graceful as always Jimmy." I chanted as I turned around. "Seems funny, on the last day of civilization their last hope practically on his knees to the devastator." I laughed. He got up slowly.
"Why? You're killing innocent civilians. You talked about killing business men, and corporations."
"The world deserves a chance to start anew. You of all people I thought would understand this."
"Me?! Of all people? I've been fighting you for years Forture. Why me of all people, why yo..." My rage was building I felt no time to let him speak.
"Because above all you've taught me that everyone can become something if only they had a new start! I am wasted Jim! I am wasted life! But now I have the opportunity to restart everything. Only the strong will survive."
"You're fucking insane! Don't you understand? Can't you understand? There is another way! You're just to fucking dumb to see it!" Jim yelled back at me. I walked forward about... three steps. Then in soft words I spoke
"Goodbye Jim." I pulled out a gun, he started to run at me as I held the gun at an approximate 220 degree angle, 180 being straight. By the time I held the gun at eye level he was right at me. I shot him... right between the eyes... But I could tell he was dead before the bullet hit his brain... what was it that made the very contraction of my index finger kill him, mentally? I didn't have much time to think. Jim's limp dead body still hurtled the next 2 inches towards me and knocked the wind out of me, I fell through the open hole he had come in through and I fell out, my mask along with it. Jim had never worn a mask... his life was the city. I fell off the building a 45 story building. Barreling towards the ground. I had no real super powers. I was a brain man. When you fall off a building, or any high structure I would imagine, you get time to think, but it's not you, it's your subconscious. It took away my memories...most of them at least. The top half of my suit was being torn off... I was dying. I felt a cool breeze over me. But it was boiling hot moments before hand. The world I saw through my eyes seemed to have a pulse, it slowed down. Until there was nothing but blackness. But then an impact occurred on my body, I woke up a jumper had caught me... reinforcements trying to save civilians? I'm not sure, all I know is that he saved my life. I looked past him as I saw the powerful burst of air pressure already making its second trip to get what it had missed... it took the ship and half it's jumpers with it. I heard a voice over the intercom.
"Cadet Foolbloom. Everyone's dead, we are the last operating defense force. We need to get every... FUCK!" The last word synced up perfectly with an eruption from the ship.
"Sarge? SARGE! SHIT! Listen!" he said looking at me. "I'm going to pull the chute now, I need you to get ready ok?" I nodded, I wasn't fully there. He pulled his chute We came to an immediate halt, I didn't expect the impact I slipped, 30 feet left... I don't know why he waited so long, first time? But I had no time to think, I looked back saw how close the ground was and... before I could think of what to do I hit the ground and was unconscious... For I don't know how long. It was dark and cold... I had my near death experience... It's sad that, from what I can remember, that was the happiest day of my life.
